Peter’s experience includes 26 years’ of Australia-based program management and four years’ in-country experience in Laos, Mozambique, Sudan and Ethiopia. As a result, Peter has developed extensive skills in the development and delivery of international assistance programming. For the past three years Peter has been providing WASH expertise on a consulting basis, with an emphasis on WASH program evaluations. Peter have recently led evaluations of Red Cross, ChildFund, World Vision WASH programs in Timor-Leste and the Solomon Islands, plus an evaluation of WaterSHEDs sanitation marketing program in Cambodia. Other consultancies have included research studies on sanitation in Timor-Leste and PNG. Peter was also a founding co-chair of the Australian WASH Reference Group, a coalition of 30 NGOs and academic institutions involved in WASH in developing countries. One of the key activities of the WASH Reference Group involved facilitating members to improve their knowledge of motivators for improved sanitation and hygiene behaviours and developing programs to improve practice in these areas. I managed this particular project which operated from 2012-13.
